Officer Mark Brinkman
Mark Brinkman was a truly exemplary officer who humbly served his community and fellow officers of the Lynnwood Police Department. After 34 years of service with 26 years at LPD, Mark died without warning of a heart attack at home. Mark was the Lynnwood Police Guild president for 16 years and negotiated multiple contracts and fought for due process for its members. Mark experienced a near death collision while working for the Island County Sheriff’s Office when a drunk driver collided into his patrol car. Mark became the State’s leader in DUI arrests, a regional DRE instructor, and was featured in local, state and national interviews on drunk driving. In addition to being a warrior, Mark was a licensed minister of the Assemblies of God church. Mark was a calm presence during the hot calls and joyously humorous in the office. Mark was a mentor and a friend and will be sorely missed. Mark loved his family most and is survived by his wife and three adult children.
